Policy Against Sexual ExploitationMay 20, 2013
POLICY OF HOTEL Y CLUB PUNTA LEONA S.A. ON THE CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS AGAINST THE SEXUAL AND COMMERCIAL EXPLOITATION IN TRAVEL AND TOURISM
In Hotel and Club Punta Leona and in compliance with the laws of Costa Rica and its citizens to protect the rights of minors we reject the sexual and commercial exploitation of children and adolescents in general and especially in association with travel and tourism. It is a conduct that conflicts with the fundamental rights of these people and above all goes against the intrinsic objectives of the tourism business.
Within the outline of our Social Responsibility Program we condemn those who use tourism and the installations and services offered to promote, facilitate or tolerate the occurrence of sexual and comercial exploitation of children and adolescents.
We reiterate that in the case that we find such a situation, we will take measures and necessary action to avoid and denounce it to the corresponding authorities.
The people who work in this company reject any act that affects the integrity of anyone, be it visiting or working within our hotel. We will also manifest through external signs directed to clients and suppliers about our position on this topic.
None of our employees can suggest or recommend to a client, places or sectors where one can find the sexual exploitation of either minors or prostitution. Above all, in any given situation one must follow the protocol created for this.
