Punta Leona Awarded 3 Blue Flags and Triple A Rating
May 20, 2013The Blue Flag is the highest recognition that the country offers for quality of its ocean and drinking waters as well as cleanliness of its’ beaches and level of safety for swimmers. Since 1998 Punta Leona’s three beaches – “Playa Blanca”, “Playa Mantas” and “Playa Limoncito” all received this award given by Costa Rica Government Authorities.
Since 2000, the Costa Rican Government also awarded Punta Leona’s Playa Blanca white sand beach the coveted AAA rating – the highest award for cleanliness and safety – which no other beach in Costa Rica currntly holds.
